Visual Diagram | Drawin' it out

Was starting to get a little het up with the whole thing, not feeling like I had any good ideas. I kept drawing to see if anything would happen.

"I like my space, my things, and stories and learning"

One idea I had was from looking around my room at all of the objects around me. In some ways people's rooms are like them but with things. People choose what to have around them and this is the case for me. I have curated my space.

A lot of things have sentimental or personal value to me, or reflect me and my interests. The rough shows a sort of 'mind map' structure, but solely with images. The lines provide a vague sort of connection and give 'flow' to the overall set of objects.

I briefly tried out making the objects from paper. This was to address my concerns about the drawings seeming of a bad quality. Would cut-paper provide 'finesse' and 'craft' to my final design? Are these even needed? I noticed however they did lose a bit of the nice line quality I get from my quick pencil drawings. The stark contrast of colours was interesting though.

Although I like these collages, there is something more emotive about the line work on its own. I think I will try to amp up my approach to line in future, by introducing shape as an accompaniment.

I know what the objects are, but do others? Spoke to Matt, and he liked sussing out the meanings behind the things as well as the personal theme. This discussion really helped and it all came back to this idea of ambiguity, and making things for you. Thanks Mattrick.
